A BIRD IN THE HAND?
Our challenge this month is to use a bird theme - it can be anything you like from ATC to three dimensional piece, or digital, as long as there's a bird in there somewhere!
I've had this birdcage a LONG time, waiting for inspiration to strike. I bought it in a hardware store sale, and it was verdigris green at the time, but not a pleasing effect. I spray painted it cream and antiqued it a little, adding a perch for my bird to sit on. The ivy leaves are individually cut out and glued in place.
But don't limit yourself - you could make a bird like this lovely felt one Linda made for me - the choice of materials is yours and the result only limited by your imagination! We can't wait to see what you come up with!

I love the little cloth bird it is so cute it would make a fabulous pin cushion .
I want that bird!!!!!!!!!!!!
So delightful!!!!
now, I'll get busy and see what I can do!
Be back later!
Don't laugh ;but, then again..... but I"ve got 3bear -sizes of those cages-still verdigris,...but now "weathered"-hiding plunked down in my front garden outside the widow next to my wild roses...they usually get covered with -pig-something-or-other -some kind of weedy vine and have one of the cats napping in front...that's how I "crafted" mine- yours is much more elegant!
The wee folk art bird is quite sprightly and pretty- like how she's standing up with her tail in the air!
Look forward to doing this one!
Cheers,
Chris/WildGoose

Thanks for the comment Rosie - the before picture is on the blog - I meant to do that anyway and forgot - thanks for the poke!
There are some very talented people in blogland, and when it comes to "thinking outside the cage", I'm not one of them. However, my lovely Blog-Friend Gini who enters your challenges, suggested I enter my Peacock Fantasy project and that I should call it "A Bird in The Hand? - no, A Bird on The Head", which I think is a stroke of genius! So, here is Peacock Fantasy
Thanks Gini!
